Job Summary and Qualifications
Directs and manages the operations and activities of the Nutrition Services area in Food Services. Visits, screens, and prioritize patient care based on acuity level, affecting the nutritional care of patients. Assesses nutritional needs, develops and implements nutritional care, and evaluates and reports these results appropriately. Coordinates these activities with the department’s management team and cooperating with other areas of the department. Serves as a role model for the department.
- Participates in all HCA EFD Clinical Nutrition Activities
- Coordinates all clinical nutrition care provided to in/outpatients including supervision of the clinical professional staff.
- Assures maximum utilization of authorized hours and maximum levels of quality and productivity.
- Demonstrates a thorough working knowledge and enforces uniform compliance with all current policies, procedures, and regulatory standards (hospital, department, TJC, HRS, OSHA, EEOC, other within patient nutrition and food service areas.
- Assist staff in developing skills to effectively and independently handle processes, (i.e. Meditech Magic).
- Oversees the preparation of monthly schedules and daily work assignments while maintaining PLUS productivity levels.
- Oversees the interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, continuous education, performance appraisals and disciplinary issues with employees.
- Oversees the practicum experience of dietetic / other students.
- Establishes NS patient care policies and procedures. Maintains current Diet Manual with up to date approval process and Department Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Assists the Director with development and implementation of the department PI Plan and prepares Quarterly PI reports for Nutritional Services
- Completes other duties as assigned
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition or related area required
- One year of experience in healthcare nutrition management required
- Three years of experience supervising Nutritional Services in an acute care setting preferred
Current Florida license as Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist
Current Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)* Certification with the Commission of American Dietetic Association
