Job Description
- Educator- develops, plans, and presents educational activities based upon assessed needs, organizational needs, and practice standards. They evaluate the effectiveness and outcomes of their endeavors and continually strive to plan activities that meet learner needs.
- Facilitator- assist learners in identifying both their learning needs and effective learning activities required to meet those needs Role models for education and facilitate team building.
- Change Agent- Through leadership and participation in various activities such as committees, task forces, projects, and strategic planning meetings, educators identify what changes should be made and influence the necessary policy and/or procedures to create the change.
- Consultant- Assists individual or groups in integrating new knowledge into practice, with career development guidance, and serves a resource for practices concerns.
- Researcher- develop staff members knowledge and skills in the research and EBP process and supports the staff in integrating relevant research outcomes into nursing practice through effective learning activities.
- Leader- Provides and supports organizational and administrative processes to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Mentor- Assists and supports nurses in a safe confidential environment offering support and guidance through their transition into practice, skill enhancement, career progression.
Requirements for the Critical CareClinical Nurse Educator:
- Master’s degree in nursing or higher, ACLS
- 3 + years of recent acute care Critical Care
- Nursing experience
- Some leadership experience- either as a manager or charge nurse
- Has excellent communication skills
- Has a working knowledge of all Microsoft office applications.
