Premier Surgery Center is seeking a full time Clinical Manager Registered Nurse for our Brunswick, Ga location.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Registered professional nurse who provides leadership, direction and administration of the assigned Surgery Departments to ensure safe patient care. Responsible for all aspects of patient care and clinical staffing in pre-operative unit, post-operative care unit and operating rooms.
Job Requirements:
Responsible for directing patient care staff in the assigned patient care units. Supervises staff members in the Pre-Op, PACU, and Operating Room settings. Consults with staff, physicians and Administrator on patient care issues and interpretation of center policies to ensure patient needs are met. Maintains performance improvement and quality assurance activities within the department and participates in CQI activities.
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Direct interviewing, hiring, training and scheduling of unit staff members.
- Supervises and oversees sterilization process.
- Supervises care of OR suite and equipment to ensure cleanliness, sterility, and operational ability of all items.
- Supervises Pre-op and PACU units.
- Assures presence staff members for all cases.
- Completes staff schedules according to established productivity goals.
- Assigns personnel and delegates specific duties and tasks.
- Possesses the ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
- Overseeing Pre-op and Post-Op staff in assessing the condition of patients, monitoring the condition of patients and providing orthopedic treatments and administering medication.
- Overseeing Pre-op and Post-Op staff in providing care to patients who have recently undergone orthopedic, spinal or general procedures.
- Assists surgeons in operations though provision of qualified staff; formulates schedule which provides staff available for all procedures
- Verifies that narcotics and controlled substances are counted and locked, per hospital policy.
- Assists in developing, revising and implementing surgical policies and procedures.
- Provides monthly inservices
- Assists in providing orientation for new staff members.
- Assists in ensuring time sheets are accurately completed.
- Assists in planning, controlling, directing and coordinating administrative duties to ensure the functioning of the department and staff
- Assists with delegating or reviewing performance improvement activities within the department
- Monitors use and waste of disposables to manage cost and prevent waste and manages cost containment
- Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times
- Maintains regulatory requirements
- Attends and participates in department committees and meetings
- Performs other duties as assigned
- MUST HAVE OR/CIRCULATION EXPERIENCE

Education:*
Graduate of an approved school of nursing, current Georgia licensure, minimum of three (3) years’ experience as nurse with progressive nursing management experience. Advanced education preparation with BSN preferred, membership and participation in professional organization preferred. Maintains a current BCLS and ACLS certification
