Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Pain Clinical Manager (RN) supervises and manages daily clinical operations/workflows and pain procedural suite. The primary responsibilities that are supervised include the nursing patient centered care activities such as: assessing, documenting, planning, implement, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care for pain patients; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for charge nurses, phone nurses and procedure nurses; and adhering to policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations.
The Pain Clinical Manager (RN) will assist in the growth and development expansion of new program offerings including but not limited to expanded Pain services. The Clinical Manager will collaborate with leadership in planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the daily operations and clinical practice of assigned patient care areas, in order to provide quality, individualized patient care and support of Hoag Pain mission. The Clinical Manager will lead staff to model a professional practice environment by: providing a clinically competent staff; encouraging strong interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication; supporting autonomy and accountability; providing staff opportunities for in-service and formal education; stressing the importance of continuous learning; and supporting a culture where concern for the patient is paramount.
Education and Experience
Required:
Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
A minimum of five (5) years' experience as an RN
A minimum of three (3) years progressive supervisory experience or equivalent.
Preferred:
Master's degree from an accredited university and 10 years' experience as an RN. NP preferred.
Five (5) years of progressive management experience, including budgetary oversight and compliance.
Experience in working with staff, nurses, and physicians in a matrix reporting structure. Knowledge of the regulatory environment in not-for-profit organizations and outpatient settings.
Licenses Required
A current and in good standing licensed RN with the California Board of Registered Nursing (RN)
Certifications Required
BLS
Certifications Preferred
Active Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP)
