Job Summary and Qualifications

This role coordinates the faculty-mentor program and role-specific development needs of all clinical faculty and campus clinical leaders regarding clinical instruction models, evidence-based facilitation and debriefing techniques, student evaluation, and clinical cohort management methods to achieve optimal student learning outcomes. The Learning Specialist supports the consistent quality and effectiveness of a formal faculty mentor program across all campuses while monitoring for the unique needs of each campus.

Position Responsibilities

1. Aligns new clinical faculty and leadership orientation, mentorship, and role-specific professional development offerings across all campuses.
2. Facilitates the transition from general orientation with the Teaching and Learning Academy to campus-based orientation and mentorship.
3. Assists with the content development and process coordination of clinical faculty mentor processes for campus-based clinical faculty and clinical leader onboarding.
4. Coordinates communication and documentation processes among mentees, mentors, and campus leaders regarding the orientee’s progress.
5. Assists campus leaders and clinical mentors in the completion of the required training documentation according to regulatory and accrediting requirements.
6. Collaborates with campus leadership to identify role-specific development opportunities for clinical faculty or leaders regarding instructional or student evaluation best practices.
7. Assists with the development of a formal clinical faculty mentor program that includes criteria for mentor eligibility, developing mentor pathways and training, and maintaining regular communication with faculty mentors.
8. Facilitates the collection of surveys and feedback regarding the Clinical Learning training and mentor programs as part of a comprehensive Clinical Learning quality monitoring program.
9. Other duties as assigned. 

What qualifications you will need:

• Education: Minimum qualification of an MSN with at least one year experience in teaching clinical in prelicensure nursing programs.
• Unencumbered Licensure: Applicable state as a Registered Nurse.
• Special Qualifications: CNEcl or obtain when eligible
• Degree of Supervision Required: Minimal.
