In collaboration with Nursing and Physician leadership, provides frontline caregivers initial and ongoing training, informatics support and expertise for the electronic medical record (EMR).
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:aa a
Supports the mission, vision and values of the hospital.
This position actively communicates with physicians, nurses and other caregivers, and employs strategies to smooth the adaptation process of on-line documentation and use of the computerized systems. Interacts with various medical center employees (various project teams, hospital staff, IT staff and vendors, departmental managers, physicians and administration).
Serves as primary contact for EMR related issues.
Provides in-person rounding and support for caregivers related to the use and adoption of existing and new clinical technologies.
Continually works to improve the knowledge and skills of our caregivers related to clinical systems and process by identifying ongoing educational opportunities, knowledge gaps and trends that can be addressed through caregiver remediation and support.
Coordinates and provides training for the electronic medical record using a variety of methods: classroom, computer based, and one-on-one.
Creates/maintains educational materials for all methods.
In collaboration with the Physician Recruitment and Medical Staff offices, provides new physician orientation.
Advises physician office staff on the technical requirements for remote access.
Coordinates, provides and tracks training for physician office staff.
Provides ongoing techniques to better incorporate and maximize utilization of the EMR.
Facilitates the creation, use and maintenance of order sets, SmartPhrases, templates, etc.
Works with ACMC and CCF help desks to fulfill service requests and address incidents, escalating as necessary
Assists in various IT projects - recommends technology solutions to facilitate operational or business initiatives - works with IT team and software vendors to solve application problems and assist with the design and testing new or upgraded applications. Assists with dissemination of technical communications related to clinical technology projects

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree, preferred.
Nursing experience preferred but other diagnostic and therapeutic experience acceptable.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Experience typically supported by license in a medically related field such as nursing, pharmacy, medical technology or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Must be currently licensed in a clinical discipline. Will maintain clinical licensure as required by state law.
Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in a hospital or major medical center, to include experience in an acute care setting, required.a Evidence of clinical information systems use required.
Experience with implementation of clinical systems in the hospital and/or ambulatory clinical setting preferred.a Previous experience with clinical leadership preferred.
Experience in mentoring, education/training or human resources development preferred.
Epic certification desirable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
High degree of dexterity to produce materials on a computer.
Requires normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech, mobility sufficient to attend meetings.
Typical physical demands that may require standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
The position must be available after hours for support by phone and computer dial-in, as well as occasional on-site night/weekend support for major system upgrades.
