GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Clinical Internship Supervisor is a dual role function providing both clinical and administrative supervision to Behavioral Health Interns. The Clinical Internship Supervisor is expected to participate in the recruitment, interviewing, training, managing and evaluation of intern performance, including the assignment of participants, and directing caseload and work.  This position will also work to ensure successful compliance with graduate program expectations.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensures the internship program provides Interns with an experience that will prepare them to be competent, well-rounded, entry-level mental health professionals with competencies enabling them to work in a community-based setting providing evidence-based and best practice care to the tertiary care population we serve.
  • Actively ensures that students have an opportunity to integrate the knowledge and skills acquired in their programs, focusing on establishing effective therapeutic relationships and refining the skills necessary to facilitate participants growth and development.
  • Serves as liaison between education institutions and TCMHS.
  • Oversees the program ensuring quality by implementing evidence-based, promising and best practices while consistently meeting external internal policy and procedure requirements as well as external regulatory board requirements.
  • Leads all aspects of the recruitment process including screening, enrollment, orientation and other forms of support necessary to prepare students to participate in the Internship program.
  • Provides active leadership to the interns through supervision and reviews, consultation, training and support in accordance with agency values and guidelines.
  • Ensures the training, support, and use of evidence-based practices in the delivery of services to TCMHS participants.
  • Actively manages interns' performance goals and professional development in Internship accordance with agency expectations and their internship contracts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Master's Degree in one of the Mental Health/Social Services sciences.
  • Must be independently licensed as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). At least one year of supervisory/management experience in human services. Strong clinical skills and knowledge base of clinical care standards in the treatment of adults, children, and families, including those families affected by multiple issues (abuse, neglect, domestic violence, chemical dependency, etc.).
  • Must possess a valid State of Maine driver's license.

Absent a qualifying medical exemption and pursuant to Maine's Covid-19 Vaccine Mandate, being fully vaccinated as defined by Maine CDC is a requirement for this position.
