Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Food Services, the Clinical Dietician is an active member of the Food Services team that assists in the preparation of nutritional meals and food consistent with the strategic vision, goals, philosophy and direction of Food Servicesand CRHS. The Clinical Dietitian evaluates the food prepared and served for conformance to quality standards and dietary prescriptions. The Clinical Dietitian develops and revises patient menus and modifies CRHS’s nutrition formulary. The Dietitian develops, implements and evaluates nutritional care plans based on a nutritional screening and assessments of the patient's age, the physician's diet prescription and other health-related factors. The Clinical Dietitian provides post-discharge follow-up nutritional consulting as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Education:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or Food Service Administration. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience:
Requires up to one year of work-related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Licensure, Registrations & Certifications:
Requires and maintains a current license and registration as a Dietitian.
Requires and maintains a current Sanitation certification.
Requires and maintains a valid driver’s license with proof of insurance.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluates food served for conformance to quality standards and dietary prescriptions.
- Assists in the development, revision and modification of patient menus. Assists in the modification of CRHS’s nutrition formulary.
- Conducts regularly scheduled visit to the Dialysis Center to review patient progress.
- Develops, implements and evaluates nutritional care plans based on nutritional screening and assessments of the patient's age, the physician's diet prescription and other health care plans for in and outpatients.
- Participates on rounds monthly at the Dialysis Center. Reviews patients’ lab work and medical condition and provides dietary education and consultations to the patients and family members.
- Provides nutritional consulting with community agencies responsible for home or institutional care of patients. Provides post-discharge follow-up for continuity of care.
- Participates in interdisciplinary patient care rounds and serves as the consultant on nutritional care. Serves as a nutritional resource within CRHS for physicians, staff and family members. Provides nutritional information, either written or oral, upon their request.
- Compiles or develops nutrition educational material for use in instructing in and outpatients and their families in nutritional principles, food selection and economics in order to ensure proper nutritional intake. Provides nutrition education for community programs as requested.
- Participates in the development and revision of department policies and procedures, plans and goals.
- Attends and participates in in-service, department meetings, committees and conferences, professional association meetings. Reviews, evaluates, interprets and utilizes pertinent subject matter and current research for the nutritional care of patients.
- Complies with CRHS and department safety, infection control and performance improvement initiatives.
- Presents a professional image to CRHS nursing and medical staff, and patients and visitors.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.

Pay: $55,400.00 - $94,700.00 per year
