Job Summary:

We welcome you to join the Nursing team as a Clinical Care Coordinator II team member. The Clinical Office Coordinator oversees the day to day operations of two ambulatory clinics; Plastic Surgery and Urology Specialists. The Clinical Coordinator is a working clinic nurse with administration duties to support practice sites. They perform administrative duties such as coordinating care teams for patients, acting as a liaison between patients, patient families, and healthcare providers. They also support their site practice manager with daily staffing, training of clinical staff, and developing/ implementing clinic policies and protocols. The Clinical coordinator assists clinical staff, interacts with different departments, and makes sure there is adequate patient care amongst other duties that they perform. Overall, the Clinical Coordinator acts as a resource providing nursing expertise and direction to assist with problem solving, patient and family liason, day to day staffing, and clinic operational flow. Minimum Requirements:

  • 2 Year / Associate Degree Graduation from an accredited RN program Minimum
  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree BSN Preferred
  • Previous Healthcare Experience Minimum
  • Other: 1 year leadership experience Preferred
  • EMR experience (Minimum proficiency)
  • Healthcare Provider CPR – (American Heart Association or American Red Cross ONLY) Minimum Upon Hire
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in accordance with the Kansas Nurse Licensure Compact Minimum Upon Hire

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and/or maintains departmental policies and procedures, to be regulatory compliant with TJC, OSHA, safety standards, or other regulatory agencies.
  • Demonstrates flexibility required to meet changing priorities.
  • Maintains respectful working relationship with co-workers and encourages the team approach.
  • Approaches work in a manner that makes quality improvement a part of every activity.
  • Organized and oversee patient care to make sure patient needs are met and OHPI/ Olathe Health patient care policies are followed.
  • Supervise clinical staff to ensure compliance with official standards / guidelines for nursing care and in alignment with established budget parameters.
  • Submitting work orders and scheduling repairs for general office space and medical equipment.
  • Make sure equipment and supplies employed for the successful operation if the clinics are well placed and functioning.
  • Establish professional judgement as regards to changing patient clinic situations in partnership with providers and manager.
  • Help maintain the clinics labor budget by daily clinical personnel management as delegated by manager.
  • Subject matter expert in nursing (clinical) roles, visit requirements, and outcomes to support leadership in improving efficiencies and work flow.
  • Clinic practice contact for interactions with clients and customers as delegated by manager.
  • Lead the orientation /induction of new clinical associates and nursing students that all necessary documentation is completed, including 90 day skills/ 90 day pathway.
  • Maintain robust professional working rapport with all physicians, advanced practice providers, co-workers, front office staff, as well as other department’s health system wide. Participates in the evaluation of co-workers.
  • Able to function as an independent clinician (LPN, RN) in any type of ambulatory setting i.e.: general cardiology, interventional cardiology or EP cardiology.
  • Works to create efficient systems and workflows within the clinic(s) responsible for in partnership with manager.
  • Manage the clinic budget and ensure that the clinic(s) is well equipped to provider top of the line service while remaining mindful of the bottom line.
  • Meet the patients and patient families to ensure their needs are met and resolve any issues or complaints that arise.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. Ability to independently run daily safety huddles and GEMBA board report outs.
  • Support and facilitate OHPI patient experience goals and quality goals for optimum patient outcomes.
