JOB SUMMARY

Clinical Case Planner's responsibilities consist of supporting customer surgeons in the pre-operative surgical planning process.  The Case Planner is responsible for case planning on the TPLAN 3D Workstation and all other Pre-operative planning platforms offered by THINK Surgical.  Patient CT scans will be used in 3D model generation, pre-operative implant planning, implant sizing and positioning. The Planning team produces high volume of quality case templates, customized to each implant and surgeon assigned, and participates in the collaborative review of each case. Case Planning team adheres to quality standards and provides documentation and record keeping for all cases planned and transferred to the online portal. Case Planner will also support the Case Planning Manager and commercial sales team in demonstrating the product to surgeons, attending cadaver labs, trade shows, and customer visits.

This is a full time (40+ hours/week) salary position based at our THINK Surgical Corporate Headquarters in Fremont, CA. The majority of work will be performed at Headquarters but may also include travel to off-site labs, tradeshow/conferences and Hospital sites. Applicants must have reliable transportation to and from the office. This is a hybrid position with 2 mandatory days in the office. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The primary function of this role is to utilize the TPLAN Workstation and proprietary planning software to process pre-operative CT scans for surgical templating. Case Planners will be expected to complete a minimum caseload per day/per week, with regular quality control checks and team reviews until proficient.
  • Support Think Surgical Clinical Launch Specialist team on all aspects of the TPLAN Workstation and upload portal(s)
  • Adapt to ongoing changes to the software and implant modules. Work closely with the development team by providing customer and user feedback, bug reporting, etc.
  • Assist the field sales team in demonstrating the product internally, to surgeons, other customer prospects; headquarter visitors and trade shows.
  • Represent the company with the highest levels of professionalism to maintain our market brand/image as a world leader in medical robotics.
  • Moderate record keeping and data entry, weekly/monthly reporting of case metrics
  • Attending departmental meetings, knowledge transfer sessions, attending cadaveric and/or specimen labs, and participating in live orthopedic surgical procedure observation as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree or 2+ years on the job experience in medical field or medical device industry
  • Experience with orthopedics, specifically Total Knee Arthroplasty, Surgical Robotics, navigation  systems, a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written, interpersonal and presentation communication skills
  • Must be capable of making decisions quickly in a high pressure setting
  • Must demonstrate confidence, trust and a high level of product knowledge
  • Fine motor skills and mouse dexterity
  • Strong analytical skills, initiative, judgment and problem solving ability
  • Excellent computer and software skills, including Microsoft suite, Atlassian products, JIRA
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices (GMP) and applicable Quality System.
  • Attendance, punctuality and responsiveness are essential functions of the position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position, standing or sitting, and operate computer equipment for a prolonged period of time, while looking at screens.
  • Physical activities include, but are not limited to: Heavy computer mouse use,  occasional packing/unpacking of computer workstations, moving about the work site, and lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Other infrequent physical activities include but are not limited to: positioning self to complete assigned tasks, and ascending/descending floors and/or stairs.
  • Occasionally work around moving mechanical parts.
  • Must be able to work in a schedule that commensurate with business operation, including occasional work during weekends, holidays and/or times outside of normal business hours.
  • Must be able to travel as business necessitates (up to 10 % travel), typically within 3 hours of the Fremont office.
