Are you interested in starting a career in the Healthcare or Optometric Industry? Look Optical is looking for someone who is reliable, interested in learning new skills, and who is friendly and professional. Under the guidance of the optometrist and location manager, assist with activities including but not limited to the following:
- Pre-screen patients and administer diagnostic tests before they see the optometrist
- Gather patient's medical history
- Train patients on proper contact lens use and care
- Obtain insurance authorizations and verification of benefits
- Accurately post charges for exam fees, co-pays, and products sold
- Accurately document optometry exams and procedures as they are being performed by the doctor
- List all appropriate diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as directed by the doctor.
- Assist other staff members to ensure patients have the best experience possible
Experience & Skills
Excellent customer service skills and personal presentation are critical to this role. The ideal candidate will have:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to do basic math
- Team player with good interpersonal and listening skills
- Passion for self-improvement and continuing education
- Previous experience in Optical or a medical clinic preferred but not required
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
