Position Summary
To provide high quality patient care services, treating all patients' and guests with courtesy, fairness, and respect. Works with Administrat and staff members in a spirit of cooperation and teamwork. Supports the goals and objectives of Fondren Orthopedics.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Follows office policies, procedures, and protocols as appropriate.
- Communicates effectively with other staff members.
- Greets visitors in polite, prompt, helpful manner.
- Responsible for assisting in directing, supervising and coordinating staff and activities for the clinic.
- Assists in the overall management of day-to-day front office operations.
- Administers clinic policies and procedures in a consistent and timely manner.
- Training and supervision of new office personnel.
- Works with management in evaluating front office staff performance and assists with disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Identifies and resolves front office work problems to ensure quality patient services setting priorities among multiple requests.
- Acts as a liaison between the Physician and the clinic staff; making sure all information needed by the Physician is processed in a timely manner.
- Updates information in electronic patient charts according to policy and procedure.
- May perform specific Job Activities as assigned per office location.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school graduate or equivalent. Some college preferred.
- 5 years of office experience required. 2 years of supervisory experience preferred. One year medical office experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical practices and reimbursement policies.
- Skill in planning, organizing, delegating and supervising.
- Must be self-directed and able to work independently
- Attention to detail a must
- Professional, calm and courteous demeanor
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and Outlook. EPM & EHR, Athena preferred.
