The Pain Clinic is an initiative between anesthesiology & physical medicine & rehabilitation that includes pain physicians, psychologists, pharmacists, physical therapists, & nurse practitioners who have expertise in Pain Management. In this department we work with patients who have chronic pain that is interfering with their daily life; even simple tasks of daily living can be difficult to handle.
ResponsibilitiesThe LPN performs delegated nursing and medical functions of data collection and delivery of care to an assigned group of patients, or individualized patient. The LPN works under the direction of a Registered Nurse, or physician/authorized practitioner and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. The LPN is responsible for adhering to all policies, procedures, and nursing practice guidelines.
The Clinic LPN involves the patient, support network, and other health team members in capturing relevant data. Documents data collected in the medical record. They deliver and follows care plan as delegated by the RN or physician/practitioner to assigned patient population, or individual patient. The LPN will:
- prioritizes work based on patient acuity, available resources, and patient/family preferences
- demonstrate their ability to deliver care by adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of those being served.
The ideal LPN can perform high and low risk technical procedures, including medications, defined by the clinical setting, and are able to communicate effectively with team members.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications- Vocational/Technical Training or Associates Degree
- Current Minnesota LPN License
