The Clinic Care Assistant participates in the care of patients in a clinic setting by measuring and recording vital signs, placing patient in rooms, preparing patients and families for exam/procedure and providing patient/family support. The Clinic Care Assistant assists the nursing staff and health care provider(s) during exams and simple and complex procedures and ensures appropriate visit notes, test and/or X-ray results are available for visit. Performs clinic-specific technical skills. Maintains clinic environment, including supplies and equipment. May be required to float to other ACU clinics as needed for staffing.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- State of Florida CNA certification required. May substitute one of the following for CNA certification:
- Nursing student currently enrolled in an approved program for preparation of professional nurses - upon successful completion of the didactic and clinical portion of nursing fundamental coursework and successful completion of the departmental PCA check-off.
- Nursing student currently enrolled in an approved program for preparation of licensed practical nurses - upon successful completion of the didactic and clinical portion of nursing fundamental coursework and successful completion of the departmental PCA check-off.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) is required (or must be obtained within first month of employment).
- Person should display initiative, have the ability to multitask and be able to take on responsibilities.
- Proven ability to problem solve and be a team member is essential.
- Understanding of medical terminology preferred.
- Successful completion of practice-specific training requirements and demonstration of practice-specific competencies.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Must possess and maintain current certification or registration as a CNA.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) is required (or obtained within 1st month of employment). Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR).
