We are hiring! The ISS ESG Climate Solutions team seeks a talented Climate Specialist who is passionate about making a positive impact and possesses a unique blend of quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.

In this role you'd:

  • Manage the implementation of client mandates and bespoke data deliveries, with a particular focus on carbon foot printing.
  • Conduct comprehensive climate impact analyses of investment portfolios across various asset classes.
  • Provide support to colleagues and clients on ISS ESG Climate Solutions offerings, including day-to-day communications, operations, and report writing.
  • Assist in quantitative analysis and research on climate strategies adopted by companies.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Client Relations teams to address client inquiries and concerns related to climate issues.
  • Contribute to process documentation, knowledge management, and methodology upgrades to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Play a role in strategic decision-making by offering insights and innovative solutions.
  • Develop and maintain models for estimating emissions, while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Utilize statistical methods to analyze and interpret data, driving informed decision-making.

What you'd bring to ISS ESG
  • A minimum of 2-6 years of relevant work experience relating to data analytics or climate change.
  • Advanced university degree ideally in environmental science, engineering, economics, quantitative finance, expertise in financial (ESG) topics is a bonus.
  • Demonstrated interest in climate change in general.
  • Specific knowledge in investment carbon foot printing, climate impact assessments of investments, GHG-accounting, or Life Cycle Analysis.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge on Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions gained either through audit or consulting work experience.
  • Very strong quantitative (and qualitative) analytical skills and excellent conceptual thinking aptitude.
  • Excellent command of Excel and good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Data science, Machine Learning as well as using Python or R libraries for data analysis and visualization are an additional asset.
  • Excellent oral and written command of English.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with customer-first attitude.
  • Willingness to work with a highly collaborative, flexible and innovative team across different locations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of contemporary software development and collaboration practices are a plus.

This role is being recruited in New York City.
Base salary: The New York City expected base pay range is $80,000 - 100,000 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and level of education.
