Within the Institutional Investor Group (IIG), we manage $1.7 trillion in assets, providing institutional clients, plan sponsors, and participants with recordkeeping, investment, and advice services, in defined contribution plans such as 401(k)s. We are operating as one team to deliver the best that Vanguard has to offer across recordkeeping , investments, advice, and products-to all clients, across all channels.
This role is responsible for the Midwest territory that has a book of business which includes $1 billion + plan sponsor client relationships where Vanguard has a recordkeeping and/or investment relationship.
Summary
As a Client Success Executive , you are r esponsible for protecting lifetime value for their book of business. Establishes and deepens client relationships leading to increased retention, loyalty and product/asset growth while developing positive relationships with key client decision makers.
What it takes
  • Responsible for the retention and satisfaction of clients within assigned book. Book of business includes some of Vanguard's most sophisticated and largest retirement plan relationships .
  • Develops and drives strategic business plans for current clients within assigned book of business focused on retention and seeking opportunity to make valuable contributions to the client relationship.
  • Strategically navigates client organizations to understand needs and position Vanguard services, solutions, and products to solve their needs.

  • Engage with internal teams towards achieving book of business strategy, share standard methodologies and learnings.
  • Navigates the organization and business partners across appropriate stakeholders to influence decisions to support client relationships and optimally manage ambiguity .
  • Diligently demonstrates and reinforces the client support structure to improve the time of the Client Account Executive this role partners with for their shared book of clients.
  • Supports the prospecting process in collaboration with Client Account Executive.
  • Coaches, collaborates, and provides insight and direction to less experienced team members and internal partners.

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Eight years of institutional relationship management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop senior/executive level relationships, navigate sophisticated organizations and manage ambiguity.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • This role requires a regulatory license 6 and 63. Must attain within six months.
  • Travel requirement: 25- 50%

  • Recordkeeping (retirement plan administration) savvy is highly preferred, investment competence a plus .
