Compensation:
  • Pay Type: Hourly plus production bonus incentives, in accordance with EXL’s policies
  • Total compensation for this position, which is a combination of an hourly base rate plus production bonus incentives, is targeted between $35k - $52k in total earnings within the first year.:
  • Hourly base rate is dependent upon job specific experience and location.
  • There is no cap on production bonus incentives
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Advanced level position in which the incumbent’s responsibilities include performing remote premium audits of insured’s business. Interviews, investigates, collects, and records information to be used in a written report that is provided to the insurance carrier. May serve as a “mentor” to employees by providing work direction in the areas of “on-the-job” training, distributing work, reviewing work, and coordinating activities, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs audit activities as assigned by the manager.
2. Audit responsibilities will include determining audit. priorities and scheduling to meet stated deadlines,
preparation of appointment letters, performing detailed review of all related business records, and
preparing written report of findings.
3. Meets with business owners/managers/clients to review audit results and implement any actions required. 4.Transmits completed report to Branch Office and/or Quality Review.
5. Corrects and completes audits previously returned for correction and transmits to Branch Office and/or
Quality Review.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintains accurate audit and business records related to, but not limited to, audit assignments, expense
reports, time reporting, etc.
2. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1. Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail.
2. Ability to manage time and perform responsibilities with little direct supervision.
3. Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, insureds, and clients.
4. Ability to utilize resources available to complete assigned projects successfully.
5. Knowledge of computer applications to document and record audit findings.
6. Familiarity with the importance of audit functions.

FORMAL EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
Education: Associates degree, or equivalent, with a major in accounting or bookkeeping preferred
Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of job experience
Certifications and Licenses:
Required: Minimum of 1-year premium audit experience
Preferred: In the process of completing APA, CPCU, and/or CIPA designation
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work performed in varying locations and conditions:
Employee’s residential office location
OSI Branch Office locations
Insured’s work site
Insured’s agent-broker office
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Visual: Normal acuity required daily for making color distinction, depth of sight, preparing/analyzing figures, computer use, and inspection of client
site and written records 8+ hours per day
Communication: Able to express thoughts and ideas in an accurate and understandable manner through verbal and written format with internal and external contacts 4-6 hours per day
Movement: Ability to maneuver within work site 6-8 hours per day
Lifting/Pulling/Pushing/Carrying: Able to comfortably move and manipulate up to 20 lbs. of weight up to 3 hours per day.
Fingering/Grasping/Holding: Have hand movement and finger dexterity to operate office equipment such as computer, fax, phone, and copier up to 7-8 hours per day.
Driving: Able to operate motor vehicle up to 6 hours per day
Travel: Travel on public transportation, including but not limited to public airlines, may be required up to 20 percent of the time.
