Southern Maine Veterinary Care is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Client Service Representative to our team.  

Southern Maine Veterinary care is a progressive and close-knit 3 doctor practice in beautiful Southern Maine. We are located 20 minutes south of Portland, ME and about an hour from Boston! Enjoy a 4-day work week and no after-hours emergency!  Our clinic operates Monday thru Friday with state of the art IDEXX software and medical equipment to provide optimal services. We are a close knit group that enjoys working together caring for animals and supporting the owners that love them. Our staff strives to support one another to keep our days fun, focused and successful. Beyond offering top notch pet care, we make our clinic comfortable, welcoming, and create a fear free environment.

Client Service Representative

Southern Maine Veterinary Care in Lyman, ME

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

• Answers telephone calls quickly, efficiently and in a professional and friendly manner using a multi-line system
• Warmly greets clients
• Preparing patient files
• Receives and relays client correspondence and updates client financial records
• Answers client’s inquiries about basic animal care questions and routine procedures
• Educates clients on over-the-counter products such as flea and tick preventions
• Admits patients and handles medical records entries accurately
• Prepares client invoices for services performed
• Handles payment transactions
• Receives and relays telephone, fax, and email messages accurately and promptly
• Assists with basic restraint and animal handling in the exam room

REQUIREMENTS 

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience working in the veterinary or animal care field
• Significant experience with basic office functions in a busy office environment
• Must be reliable and punctual
• Must be a team player and have compassion for pets and their people
• The ability to handle stressful situations with grace, compassion and professionalism
• Understands different communication styles and modifies their behavior accordingly
• Solutions-based, able to handle conflict respectfully and maintain composure amidst busy and constantly changing circumstances
