What We Seek
We are looking for a Manager/Senior Manager to join our practice in Dallas, TX. This position will is focused on serving Merit's clients through successful engagement and team management and will work closely with Merit's leadership to build our business and have a direct impact. The ideal candidates will have a strong track record of running and executing Client Engagements, interacting with clients and have strong business/finance (commercial) aptitude.

What Your Day Will Look Like
The Manager leads the consulting team to provide highest-level service to clients through accurate data analysis and industry-leading results throughout the property tax cycle. They will provide strong Client Engagement skills and be able to teach those skills and hold others accountable for those skills. They have a keen eye for detail and an intuition to see things others do not. In general, you can expect to:
  • Execute Client Engagements. Hold others accountable for successful & productive Client Engagements.
  • Provide strong leadership to clients, direct reports and throughout the company.
  • Articulate & persuasive communication with all stakeholders, project management.
  • Perform detail reviews of asset data and supporting documentation for determining proper valuations for purposes of quantifying tax assessments.
  • Review and manage client contract terms, scope of services and fees. Oversee client billing and ensure timely collection of receivables.
  • Manipulate and analyze raw data from various accounting and reporting systems.
  • Proactively secure tax abatements and exemptions
  • Address complexities and issues that arise from client operations.
  • Manage the preparation, review, and processing of tax documents for clients.
  • Maintain direct contact with clients and various appraisal districts.
  • Continuously develop tax expertise, analytical capabilities, and soft skills.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or similar field
  • Four to six years' experience providing strong Client Engagement execution at Big Four (or similar) consulting or advisory firms.
  • Intellectual curiosity, drive, and passion for learning new skills, and helping others learn those skills.
  • Exceptional Excel Skills
  • Experience in the energy industry is preferred.
