Job purpose
Serve an integral role in helping IKOR clients achieve the highest level of wellbeing possible by advocating on behalf of client’s non-medical needs, functioning much like a surrogate family member. Tasks are varied and will touch on clients’ finances, insurances, housing, and happiness, among others.
Duties and responsibilities
- Maintain frequent and direct contact with clients to ensure both their basic and higher-level needs are met. These needs are diverse and can include appropriate housing and furnishings, sufficient insurance coverages, reliable care giving support, timely bill pay, satisfying social connections, and a well-informed circle of family and friends.
- Serve as primary scheduler of private and agency caregivers on behalf of clients. Liaison with agency staff, and coordinate with and onboard private caregivers.
- Complete insurance applications and claims’ forms and interface with providers to ensure appropriate coverages, as well as timely handling of client claims for long term care insurance, life and other personal lines, homeowners’ and renters’ insurance, and other risk management and insurance policies and tools.
- Use best efforts to secure any and all public programs which may supplement clients’ financial resources such as Medicare and Medicaid. Seek additional ways to lower client expenses associated with utilities and other living expenses, and, as appropriate, guide clients toward more prudent money management habits.

These service providers may include attorneys, caregiving agencies, ALFs/SNFs and other senior communities; real estate agencies; appraisers and auctioneers; financial planners; general contractors, and others.
