Position Summary
The Department of Public Safety at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Clery Compliance Officer position.
Qualifications
Minimum Required Education
Applicant must have a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Criminal Justice, Human Resources, Emergency Management, Education, Administration, Paralegal Studies or a related field from an accredited university or college. Internal and external applications are accepted.
Minimum Required Experience
Applicant must have at least 3-5 years experience. Experience performing duties related to job may be substituted in lieu of degree requirement on a year-by-year basis.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit annual crime statistic reports to the Department of Education as required. Maintain the Department of Public Safety website.
  • Reviews all police department incident reports, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) records, Campus Safety Authority (CSA) reports, and other sources of crime data for reportable Clery crimes.
  • Stays abreast of changes to the Clery Act and other laws and regulations affecting Clay provisions.
  • Works with various institutional stakeholders on Clery Act requirements.
  • Coordinate and/or conducts training for faculty, staff, and student body.
  • Communicate effectively through oral and written mediums.
  • Compose, edit, proofread, and format various correspondence, reports, and other written materials.
  • Evaluate research to identify potential solutions, strategize addressing problems, and provide information.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and appropriate documentation.
  • Prioritize work and demonstrate excellent organization skills.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
