Job description for Executive/Communications/School Assistant:
Tentative Hours: Sunday 8:30-12, Monday 12:30-8:30, Wednesday 12:30-8:30, Thursday 9-5, Friday 9-5 during school sessions. Non school weeks will vary slightly.
Communication/Executive/School Assistant duties:
- Compose, compile, edit, and send weekly Temple correspondence
- Work with staff and lay leadership to create and coordinate publicity for events, programs, and classes. Create flyers for clergy/staff/others as time allows, Designing/editing/proofreading copy
- Schedule online meetings for committees
- Maintain Temple Calendar in conjunction with Clergy/Executive Director/Religious School Director, create weekly calendars for staff
- Maintain the electronic event board in the lobby as requested by Clergy/Executive Director/Religious School Director.
- Receive visitors with warmth and kindness, answer phones, take messages, respond to voicemail, screen emails if asked, and respond to inquiries with patience, kindness, and respect. Handle parent requests and student issues during school hours.
- General Clerical: Copying as needed, mailings, maintaining school records etc.
- Work with membership database and Temple RMS – Training available
- Support Clergy/Executive Director/Religious School Director as needed handling correspondence, preparation and maintenance of files including teaching materials, song sheets, class lists, and other files
- Coordinate Clergy/School/Synagogue programs as needed including preparing room requests, and check requests.
- Remain apprised of all TBT programs, and connect members to the appropriate staff or lay leaders
- Manage as needed purchase requests and reimbursements for the Clergy/Executive Director/Religious School Director.
- Logistical support for School events Shabbat and Holidays
- Communicate member and non-member comments, concerns, and suggestions to the appropriate staff for follow-up
- Other duties as assigned by Clergy/Executive Director/Religious School Director
Skills Needed:
- General computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Google, Gmail, Zoom, Database Management, Constant Contact, Dropbox, willingness to learn new software.
- Ability to create flyers/publicity
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Lift up to 25 pounds as needed
- Pleasant personality, team player

- Background Check will be required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
