JTG is currently seeking Cleared/Clearable Localization Specialists - Journeyman Chinese Linguists
Location: Reston, VA
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of cloud environments for human language technology (HLT) tool deployment
- Provide technical support on human language technology projects
- Facilitate unit- and enterprise-wide technology rollouts
- Train linguists in human language technology
- Assist with troubleshooting foreign language content issues related to triage, translation, transcription, interpretation, and localization
- Validate new features in computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, translation memory servers, and human language technology tools.
- Manage translation memories
- Identify commercial tools to deploy
- Automate file analysis, parsing, and filtering
- Write scripts and/or macros in various program languages to automate repetitive tasks
- Prepare file types for localization process (including re-coding and script writing)
- Provide estimates on projects
Basic Qualifications:
- US citizenship and willingness to obtain TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
- Four years of on-the-job experience in human language technology field
- Experience with computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, localization engineering, and translation memory servers
- Experience with desktop publishing (DTP), Adobe suite, and Microsoft Office tools and applications
- Able to pass an English language reading comprehension test
- Able to pass translation test from the foreign language into English at interagency language roundtable (ILR) level 2+ or higher
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
- Experience with HTML, XML, ASP, and JSP
