Cleared Soldering/Technician

Summary: Looking for an experienced Soldering/Technician with active secret clearance to work in the ATWS - MLD depot Area, troubleshooting and evaluating customer fielded hardware.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to understand schematics, generate rework instructions, diagnose faults and troubleshoot all-up assemblies to the LRU level and circuit cards down to the component level.

• Experience with soldering surface mount (SMT) and through hole components to PWBs

• Trained in IPC specification J-STD-001.

• Uses microscope to verify correct part placement and orientation, manually align parts before soldering and perform post re-flow inspection and touch-up.

• Must be able to read instructions and identify standard SMT components.

• Able to identify and touch up poor wetted solder joints, solder voids / insufficient solder, solder shorts/ bridges, misaligned parts / leads, components and any out solder defects that may occur during the SMT operation.

• Ability to perform electrical measurements and analysis using a variety of tools, measurement, and test equipment (Multimeters, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzers, network analyzers and waveform generators)

• Fluent with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Power Point, Excel

• 3 - 5 years of relative experience

• Active secret clearance

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with depot level maintenance procedures
• Certified in J-STD-001, IPC 7711/7721 & IPC7095
• Able to move between areas where additional support is required such as testing, mechanical assembly & wiring
• Familiarity with digital multi-meters etc.

Job Responsibilities:

• Carry out troubleshooting & evaluation of customer field hardware at the depot
• Solder & rework as necessary
• Maintain proper record keeping of lab activities.

 

Pay Details: $21.00 to $28.00 per hour
