General Duties/Basic Job Functions: (Other duties may be assigned.)
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
Gather and empty trash.
Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Remove, neutralize, or clean up hazardous materials that are found or spilled
Clean contaminated equipment for reuse
Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours/use and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
Keep records of cleanup activities
Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Recognize and mitigate a variety of miscellaneous hazards encountered within the department and other work environments, i.e., surroundings, mechanized equipment, and hazardous materials.
Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
May be expected to make basic repairs.
Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with passengers, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
Comply with all safety, security, compliance and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
