Job description

SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Clean Room Technician position is to assist in the inventory management and supply distribution for the Cord Blood Bank (CBB). Primarily, this role will create supply kits containing single use, sterile, critical supplies for use in sample collection and processing activities. Using established systems and procedures to ensure inventory levels are monitored and maintained, purchases are received and qualified for clinical use, and accurate inventory records are maintained.
**Shift: Mon-Sat, 8 hour shift, 40 hours/week. Shift hours will be determined after training period based on business need within current lab hours of 7am to 11pm.**
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES Kit Assembly and distribution of supplies to CBB Collection sites
1.1 Create various supply kits of critical supplies (single use/sterile) for distribution to collection sites utilizing inventory tracking system. Use inventory system to ensure identity and traceability of all critical supplies contained in each collection kit.
1.2. Assist in the review of supply orders and fill items upon request. Pack supplies and arrange delivery with approved couriers according to schedule.
1.3. Assist in the maintenance of accurate documentation of orders and distributed inventory concurrently with the activities.
1.4 Assist with the shipment of transport totes that are rotated back to remote collection sites, utilizing institutional shipping vendor to schedule and ship in the most cost effective and timely manner
1.5 Assist with monitoring the condition of transport totes for Cord Blood units and samples and work with Quality unit to retire and replace as necessary. Monitor datalogger calibration dates, battery life and overall functionality and partner with Quality Unit to replace as necessary.
Inventory Management
2.1 Assist with the receipt of loading dock deliveries. Receive supplies and distribute to appropriate area.
2.2 Assist with the restocking and rotation of supplies and reagents in the inventory area. Pull supplies for lab and collections using a first in, first out approach as detailed in inventory management procedures.
2.2 Assist with restocking of basic items, including linen, as required for cleanroom facility.
2.3 Maintain accurate documentation, concurrently, to permit full traceability of supplies, reagents and equipment from order to release for use.
2.4 Maintain office inventory and supplies. Review par levels weekly and submit supply orders in institutional system. Assist with tracking and receipt of incoming orders.
2.5 Assist with the entry of critical supplies, equipment and vendors in validated electronic inventory application. Create records for new supply entry and batch records. Create and dispense labels as need; affix labels accurately to all critical supplies, formulation kits and equipment.
Clean Room Support
3.1 Assist with the qualification and release of critical supplies for use, per FDA regulations, current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and CBB policies and standard operating procedures (SOP). Properly file electronic copies of all certificates of analysis and manufacturer's instructions for supplies received.
3.2 Assist with the maintenance of Clean Room supplies and products.
3.3 Assist with the preparation and stocking of lab supplies and inventory management for classified (Clean Room) spaces.
3.4 Transport materials and supplies to and from the lab. Convey patient samples and products to lab personnel or place in appropriate staging area.
3.5 Retrieve appropriate totes with patient samples from laboratory personnel and deliver to couriers as scheduled.
EDUCATION
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE
Required: Two years of experience in a clinical medical laboratory or similar setting. With preferred degree, no experience required.
