Classroom Instructor -After School Elementary & Summer Program

The program includes Fall After School, and Summer camp. - Day school Paraprofessionals and Early Childhood students with experience are encouraged to apply.
There will always be one support person to assist and support you. You will also work beside program management, a Program Director and Assistant PD to help with lesson planning and training.
PLEASE NOTE: HOURS RANGE FROM 15 TO 17 PER WEEK for Fall - Summer Camp Hours range from 25 - 30 hours. Rates of pay match your skills and experience. There is also the opportunity for growth! This position requires that you are available Monday - Friday from 2:30 to 5:30 pm from September to June, and during 7 weeks of Summer Camp in July and August.

EXPERIENCE / ATTRIBUTES:
Qualifications: We are looking for experienced dedicated individuals who are disciplined, organized, alert, hardworking, and capable of creating engaging activities for children in our programs. Applicants must be dedicated to positive youth development. They should be: Energetic, interesting, enthusiastic, cooperative, creative, sharp, learn quickly, create lesson plans and be willing to collaborate or lead a partner Classroom Instructor
- Hold at least an Associates degree. Early childhood development credentials or enrollment in early childhood college degree courses is a plus.
- Must be a step above other instructors and be able to manage a classroom, positively engage children and lead a group
- Have at least 2 years of experience with inner-city children in the classroom or daycare setting
- Have excellent cognitive skills and knowledge of classroom management with elementary age children (grades K-5)
- Work well with a team of instructors
- Have at least 2 years in the classroom or afterschool experience with good communication skills
- Have a pleasant cooperative personality with children, co-workers, and management
- Must be reliable, punctual, honest, and have excellent interpersonal skills
- Able to present yourself as a positive role model
- Have excellent Lesson planning and implementation skills, (We will instruct in our curriculum)
- Creative skills such as dance, drama, music, sports, or visual arts ARE A PLUS
- Must pass pre-employment background clearances
