Description:
The primary role of the Classroom Audio-Visual Support Technician is to support in-session classes when classroom technology is involved. Adaptability is a critical component of the position, as a timely response is vital to educational continuity in the event of a technology failure. The Classroom Support tech reports to the Technology Support Manager and provides user support for scheduled curricular and administrative events. The Classroom AV Technology staff will also offer computer and laptop support. This position works with the Director, CTO (Chief Technology Officer), and other stakeholders to design, purchase, configure, and distribute IT (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY) assets to meet business objectives throughout the college. Duties include receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and resolving intermediate to complex technology requests. Problem resolution may involve remote diagnostic and helpdesk request tracking tools and in-person, hands-on classroom AV support.Responsibilities include configuring, installing, and troubleshooting college LMS (Learning Management Systems) computing hard college LMS (Learning Management Systems) computing hardware ware, and advanced lab devices, including but not exclusively computers, high-production printers, digital projection, classroom AV systems, and video teleconferencing (VTC) solutions.
Due to the work, the Classroom AV technical Support Agent may be exposed to privileged, sensitive, and confidential information. Standard non-disclosure agreements will apply.
Job Functions
- Serve as front-line support for ABAC OTS.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair procedures on computer software, hardware, and classroom audio/video equipment while documenting all work performed.
- Monitor and respond effectively and quickly to requests received via the IT helpdesk professionally.
- Escalate client-related or technical issues to other teams or management when necessary.
- Report significant or recurring problems to management and gather feedback to determine issues and patterns so that they can be resolved.
- Manage endpoint inventory ensuring all devices are appropriately patched and secure
- Assist in the creation of FAQs to be provided to clients to provide user self-service solutions.
- Documenting internal procedures and maintaining the daily performance of computer systems
- Stay current regarding the latest AV developments, including conferencing systems, video production workflows, and equipment.
- All other duties as assigned.
