Salary is $31,250 for 10 months (August 25th, 2023-June 30th, 2024). Hours are 8am-3pm for a 35 hour work week! This location requires staff to work in the summer from July 6th to August 16th, 2024 for an additional $3,900. Hours are 8am to 2pm and summer school operates five days a week (Monday-Friday).

School holidays are plentiful and are included in your salary (paid days off!)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The Classroom Assistant/Aide shall:

• Classroom Assistant: Possess 60 college credits from an accredited post-secondary institution OR hold Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited post-secondary institution (preferred)
• Classroom Aide: Possess High School Diploma and have at least two years of experience working as a paraprofessional or 1:1
• Demonstrate excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills and the ability to motivate and instruct students.
• Demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
• Showcase expertise and experience in using 21st Century based/Web 2.0 technology tools and protocols.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Classroom Assistant/Aide at Y.A.L.E. School assumes the professional responsibility for providing supervision of assigned students in a safe, supportive and positive classroom climate that develops in each student the skills, attitudes, and knowledge to meet and exceed the approved curricula and directives of the school. Achieving academic excellence requires that the Classroom Assistant/Aide work collaboratively with other members of the school staff and with parents.

In addition, the Classroom Assistant/Aide will strive to meet the highly effective criteria for the implementation of a School Wide Positive Behavior Support system and the recording of daily behavioral data and addressing the needs of diverse learners through classroom environment, leadership, and professionalism.
