Summary
First Preschool & Day Care seeks a Classroom Aide to assist our teachers. The Classroom Aide supports the Teachers and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. The aide must communicate, listen, and work well with others in a team environment. The aide assists the staff in implementing a quality educational program and developing positive relationships with the children and their parents.
Hours are 9:00 - 12:00 am or 2:00 - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday.

Duties
- Assist in the implementation of activities and encourage participation by children.
- Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
- Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
- Help ensure smooth, daily transition throughout the day.
- Follow all center policies and state regulations.
- Assist in preparing and serving snacks and lunch.\
- Model patience and kindness.
- Perform or assist in housekeeping tasks and other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality about issues regarding staff members, children, and families.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Pass a childcare background check.
- Submit a Staff Health Report within 30 days of hire.
- Complete Abuse Head Trauma training within one week of hire.
- Complete Mandatory Reporter training within one week of hire.
- The ability to take frequent walks, kneel, bend, squat, or crawl.
- Pushing, moving, lifting objects weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Be able to participate in outdoor activities.
- Maintain effective and cooperative relationships with staff, students, and parents.
- Understand and follow oral and written directions.
