Job description

Cedar Grove is looking for Class B drivers to safely and efficiently operate our Front End Loader trucks and other equipment as needed. Our Front Load drivers will be based out of Seattle and cover any route/routes needed between our other locations. They are responsible for servicing customer's dumpsters and bins. This is a union position with benefits from Teamsters 174.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILIES:

  • Operating Class B equipment safely and efficiently in all seasons and all weather conditions.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections and complete log before operating vehicle.
  • Interact with customers and public in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Emptying customer containers and bins (recycling, including food waste).
  • Deliver waste to the facility for processing as needed.
  • Maintaining daily customer billing paperwork.
  • Maintaining the containers and bins and make replacement recommendations.
  • Checking each account for, how full the container is for sales.
  • Other duties as required

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dependable, self-motivated and ability to work without supervision.
  • Ability to work with public in professional manner.
  • Flexible work schedule due to seasonal demands.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION:

  • CDL “B” Class
  • DOT Medical card

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to sit, stand, walk and climb in and out of trucks up to 8+ hours per day. Answer and talk on telephone, email on occasion and work with the computer system. Drive Class B equipment safely! Also, be able to open and close heavy steel container doors.
