Class A Driver
Food Bank of Alaska is looking for Class Band Class A CDL Drivers. Our drivers pick up donated food products from many sources in Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley, and deliver products to our partner agencies, and to shippers, for further distribution around Alaska. The Class A driver has daily contact with our donors and agencies and must provide exceptional customer service. The Class A Driver is also a member of the warehouse team, performing various warehouse functions as needed, including but not limited to, excellent customer service and on-time deliveries, assistance in loading/unloading FBA trucks, proper storage of products, upkeep of agency vehicles with a focus on safety and appearance standards, daily reports, vehicle inspections, operating an electric pallet jack according to standards, and proper food handling practices.
The ideal candidate will have a valid Alaska Class A CDL, clean driving record, a current DOT required medical card and experience in warehouse work and driving delivery/pick up routes. One year of diesel truck driving and forklift experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will be a hard worker, dependable, willing to learn, and must be team-oriented. The candidate must be able to stand, walk, sit, squat, and bend throughout the workday; frequently lift, carry, and position items weighing up to 70 pounds. Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function of this position.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position which reports to the Warehouse Manager, and pays $25.00 to $30.00hr depending on License class. We offer health/dental benefits, vacation, sick leave, 403(b).
