Looking for a full time Class B CDL driver to work as local Delivery Driver in the greater Anchorage area. Portage Transportation is a fast growing family owned and operated company that is looking for long term employees.
*** Must have held at least a class B license for a minimum of 2 years ***
We take a unique approach to freight and shipping in Alaska, and the ability to adapt and overcome on the fly throughout the day is expected by our customers. We pride ourselves in being able to accommodate every piece of freight, and as a result expect our employees to come with a "can-do," and "figure it out" attitude.
For this position you can expect a Monday through Friday schedule that includes: making pickups in Anchorage, and some days delivering shipments primarily to customers in Seward, and rarely to Cooper Landing, Whittier, Girdwood and the Matsu. This position may be requested to fill in for other drivers for scheduling requests.
Requires:
Some experience driving in and around the greater Anchorage area.
Class B CDL.
Haz-Mat endorsement
Up to date DOT medical card.
Ability to lift up to 75lbs.
Ability to safely climb up and down and into equipment.
No significant commercial driving experience is required.
Prefer:
Class A CDL with doubles endorsements.
Technology savvy.
