This New Team Member will fill the role of Relief Delivery Driver - Class A Driver's License/Route Sales Relief Representative. This position requires Class A CDL with a clean driving record and must pass a DOT background check & physical and Route Sale Experience preferred. The work schedule is Monday - Friday with a start time of 5 am and company vehicle provided. In addition, this position will cover the entire Northeastern Oklahoma footprint from Miami to West Siloam Springs, Chouteau/Pryor to Vinita and everything in between. As a Relief Delivery Driver w/Class A License & Relief Sales Representative you will cover delivery & sales routes when employees are on vacation/PTO, out ill or personal leave and for general coverage. When you are not selling and/or delivering you will provide support to either the sales team and/or the delivery team with other tasks such as customer/account resets, merchandising, assisting/helping a delivery route driver, and other responsibilities as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for learning all sales positions and for specified rural areas includes delivery positions: relieving sales and delivery routes when needed as assigned by Area Sales Manager.
  • Responsible for assisting in set up, break down, and support during special events.
  • Counts inventory on shelf and in back storeroom; makes accurate updates via iPad. Stocks and rotates all products sold to licensed accounts in territory.
  • Secures promotional price discounts and product displays with store managers to sell highest achievable volume. Build displays and maintain all POS materials with clean appearance and in good working order.
  • Pulls empty, damaged or out-of-date products.
  • Rotate product according to code dates.
  • Organize backroom for ease of pulling product for shelf and staging.
  • Transmits orders at specified intervals during the day with the final transmission by 5:00 p.m. or as specified by route.
  • Maintains good customer relations and satisfaction; responds to customers’ merchandising requests, or product orders, quickly and courteously.
  • Persuades all customers to accept delivery of increased amounts of inventory and of additional LDF Sales & Distributing, Inc. products.
  • Informs customers of all company products sold, including any new products.
  • Maintains accurate, up-to-date accounts (route cards/books) via iPad using the color-coded rotation schedule as outlined. Reports market trends and competitive activity to Area Sales Manager and recommends marketing or sales response, if appropriate.
  • Assures supplier and LDF Quality Assurance standards and procedures are strictly followed. Safeguards all assigned company products, inventory, vehicles and equipment from theft, abuse, or loss.
  • Delivers product orders needed before regular delivery, collects payments, and assumes responsibility for safe deposit of same (delivery relief only).
  • Completes load sheets the same day product is taken or brought back.
  • Performs thorough line cleaning activities at all assigned accounts.
  • Resolve draft equipment problems as needed to maintain and improve customer service.
  • Adheres to all established check-in/check-out procedures and policies.
  • Follows specific LDF Sales & Distributing, Inc. and supplier product handling, delivery and storage procedures to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Operates Company vehicle according to Fleet Safety Manual and reports any vehicles accident Areas Sales Manager immediately and follow the accident policy as outline therein.
  • Maintains vehicle according FDAA to include cleaning vehicle as needed and any other equipment in use.
  • Ensures that all sales practices are in accordance with rules and regulations as defined by the state and federal governing bodies regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages.
  • Performs such other duties as deemed necessary by the Area Sales Manager.

Qualifications: Must have a Class A driver's license. Completion of Company training program. Possess in-depth knowledge of company products: every brand and package sold and benefits of each product; policies; procedures, and operations. Knowledge of State laws regarding the sale of alcohol. Possess grooming and hygiene practices consistent with maintaining good customer relations. Adapts well and is flexible with not having a daily routine.

Education/Experience: High school degree or equivalent. Prefer 3-6 months commercial driving experience and prior route sales or delivery experience.

Language Ability: Interpersonal skills to deal with customers effectively and in a professional, business-like manner.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Basic understanding of completing and balancing a deposit with product sold.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to understand the basic operation of handheld units and associated software.

Certificates and Licenses: Valid Class A driver's license.

Heavy work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Requires continuous standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, routine and repetitive pushing/pulling 150-500 lbs., and lifting/carrying 26-50 pounds and occasionally up to 160 pounds. Individual must be physically capable of occasionally moving product into and out of customers’ establishments in large volumes in a relatively short period of time. Employee is exposed to outside weather conditions and deals with sudden temperature changes when entering and exiting refrigerated coolers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus to read information on electronic devices and on paper, and to operate a motor vehicle. Continuous jostling from riding and driving a truck.
