We are looking CDL Class A PortTruck Driver.
Job Responsibility:
- Transported various goods, including containers and bulk cargo, to and from the port terminal, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
- Conducted thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and fluid levels, to maintain optimal safety standards, properly track and document activity log
- Followed all port and industry regulations, including weight restrictions, hours of service, and cargo securement guidelines.
- Utilized GPS systems and navigation tools to plan routes, select appropriate lanes, and avoid congestion or hazardous conditions.
- Collaborated with port personnel, customs officials, and shipping agents to ensure accurate documentation and smooth cargo handoff.
- Performed routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning vehicles and performing minor repairs, to ensure the fleet's optimal performance.
- Adapted to changing schedules and priorities, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Skills:
- Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) with 5 years of clean driving record.
- Extensive knowledge of port operations, including terminal layout, container handling, and safety protocols.
- Proficient in operating various types of port equipment, such as container chassis, flatbed trailers, and terminal tractors.
- Strong understanding of relevant regulations, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) rules and hours of service.
- Excellent navigational skills, utilizing GPS systems and other tools to plan efficient and safe routes.
- Ability to handle time-sensitive deliveries, meet deadlines, and maintain exceptional customer service.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with port personnel and shipping agents.
- Attention to detail in cargo securement, ensuring the safety and integrity of transported goods.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, handling unexpected situations or roadblocks effectively.
Qualifications:
- Class A driver's license
- TWIC required. At least 1 year CDL
- Pass the background check and drug test
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Strong work ethic
Schedule:
- Part time
- Home daily
- Able to work from Monday to Wednesday
- Preferred night shift availability - Starting at 8:00pm
