The Company: Prime Auto USA is an independent used car dealership located in Jackson, TN with a full sales team, finance team, client success team and service team with a total of just under 50 employees and selling just under 100 cars per month. We provide automotive reconditioning to cars that are being prepared to sell including an 80 point inspection as well as on-going repairs for our free 6 month 6,000 mile limited warranty and customer pay work. Job Description: CDL Transport Buyer

Looking for a motivated, hardworking, energetic team player, with a class A CDL license to operate a 3-car hauler. As a Transport Buyer you will play an extremely important role in the satisfaction and overall continued success of our company. In this role, you are responsible for inventory pickup and delivery. You will also perform various tasks and errands for the Inventory Department and other tasks as assigned by your Manager.

Job Description: The CDL Transport Buyer reports to the GM and Service Manager and manages relationships with auctions, transporters, wholesalers externally as well as sales, service, collections and accounting internally to maintain sufficient inventory quantities, records and qualities to meet company sales, accounting and collection goals. The CDL Transport Buyer has the following responsibilities:

• Maintain and update a weekly inventory matrix detailing the cars we currently have in stock, how many we would like to maintain in stock and the difference (the buy list) of cars that we need to purchase. This matrix should be updated routinely in collaboration with the CEO, Sales and Service to meet all company goals.
• Purchase the cars that we need to fulfill the inventory matrix each week/month. Purchase based on the cost parameters and preference parameters resulting from the demand from consumers, not personal preferences.
• Manage relationships internally and externally to purchase cars needed and to wholesale cars that we are not keeping including, but not limited to, the auctions, wholesalers, transporters and others.
• Assist under the direction of accounting the month end audit at the end of each month.
• Provide required documentation to accounting for new car purchases and recovered SKIPs into Rapid Recon, Solutions and any other systems of record required to maintain accurate and timely records. Provide documentation to accounting for vehicles transported to be wholesale or retail to keep the inventory clean and accurate. Assist accounting as requested to verify payment is received from the vendor where the car is sold.
• Complete and turn in Mechanical New Buy Checklists to GM and accounting.
• Follow New Car Intake Process Steps
• Follow the Consumer Vehicle Purchase Process
• Complete other assignments as assigned by your direct manager.

Duties: The CDL Transport Buyer is responsible to maintain positive and effective relationships with internal and external partners to oversee and ensure that all team members meet the minimum requirements of their role and to escalate items that are not going according to company plans to the General Manager/CEO.

It is typical for the CDL Transport Buyer to complete the following work daily:

• Login to Paychex, Rapid Recon and any other required company systems to report time worked and what work is completed and ensure all employees do the same.
• Follow policies and recommend appropriate changes that would create better practices on when a car will be kept or sold at auction for REPOs and recovered SKIPs. The policies and revisions to policies related to inventory management should be in collaboration with your manager and other stake holders and based on maximizing profit.
• Create and maintain strong relationships of trust and confidence with vendors related to the role and internal partners.
• Go to auctions (if approved by GM) in person to fulfill buying and selling for the business and for consumer purchases.
• Manage and transport the purchased vehicles.
• Complete monthly inventory audits or oversee them to ensure they are completed timely and accurately.
• Work in conjunction with Sales to train on pricing trade ins and purchases. Set policy that is approved by your Manager and by stakeholders on this process.
• Work toward a consistent effort to brand and market our company as a preferred choice for consumers to sell us their used vehicles.
• Other special projects you see as an opportunity or as assigned by your Manager.
• Drive company trucks (F450/3500) to pull our 3 car or single car hauler to transport vehicles in a timely manner.

Expected Results:

The activities listed above are to result in:

• Maintaining a consistent mix of inventory based on the inventory matrix which will contribute to consistent sales of 80-100 per month.
• Transport wholesale units as instructed within a reasonable time frame.
• Cars purchased are within industry standard on price and condition.
• Maintain excellent relationship with strategic and internal partners.
• Create a company culture of respect where we perform above industry average and the team members prefer working at Prime Auto USA.
• Main role would be transporting but would be a backup buyer as needed.
• Go to auctions to purchase new inventory only with GM approval.

Minimum Requirements for Employment:

• Demonstrated abilities utilizing technology the company utilizes accurately, timely and consistently.
• Must have knowledge of ratchet straps and tie downs.
• Must be able to pass a drug test and future random drug testing.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must have and maintain a valid Class A CDL license.
• A minimum of 5 plus years transporting vehicles or similar.
• Other experience in the automotive industry is a plus.

• Must maintain a valid Driver’s License and a driving record allowing to qualify for our insurance.
• Must be at least 21 years old for company insurance purposes.

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
