Job Summary: Duties vary on a day to day basis. Activities will include hauling heavy material & equipment to jobsites, loading and unloading building material & equipment from trucks to jobsite. FEW WEEKENDS - Home Every Night.
Responsibilities:
- Class A CDL driver is responsible for the transportation of building material and heavy equipment from the warehouse to specific jobsite locations. Locations include but not limited to Maryland.
- Class A CDL drivers' duties include inspecting the items before and after the delivery to ensure that the orders are correct with the right quantity, logging proof of delivery from the receiving customers jobsite location in our builder software program, following the delivery schedule and reporting any delays immediately and escalating concerns of incorrect deliveries and defective items.
- Additional errands, deliveries and pickups at the direction of the Managers
- The driver is responsible for monitoring the vehicle's engine for efficiency and providing status reports for maintenance
- Maintaining the cleanliness of vehicles, equipment, and job sites
- Must have excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills, following safety procedures and road rules at all times.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned including work in the field as additional labor as needed
- Every employee is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of job site including but no limited to ensuring safety fence is up, securing jobsite by making sure garage doors/gate are closed, pick up trash, cigarette butts, porta potty cleanliness, etc.
- Properly follows company and OSHA safety procedure. Brings safety issues to the attention of the foreman, superintendent, or safety director
- Work with managers for keeping correct inventory on warehouse supplies
- Assist with putting deliveries away in warehouse
- Maintain storage safety in accordance with all OSHA regulations
- Maintain MSDS binder in accordance with OSHA regulations
- Routinely check emergency supply kits throughout warehouse
- Ensure any possible accidents i.e. trip, falls, spills, light outage are reported to manager
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Drivers must meet all qualifications of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations (FMCSR).
- Must be at least 25 years of age
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical
- Must submit driving record prior to interview
- Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol Test
