Job Summary
Top Tier Transport LLC. Is a leading transportation and logistics company. Our company specializes in hiring quality truck drivers to ship goods and possessions by truck. We are seeking qualified drivers for part-time and full-time employment. As part of the process, TTT will pre-qualify individuals for these positions by completing and submitting an application on your behalf for available positions. Our goal is to cultivate and maintain relationships with our drivers and make their needs our TOP priority.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform safety checks of brakes, steering column, lights and mirrors prior to each leg of journey to ensure road readiness.
- Follow and maintain loading protocols, using chains and binders to secure cargo and re-checking their stability throughout trips.
- Inspect trailers before and after loading, paying attention to status of air lines and jack positions and adjusting them as necessary.
- Visit weigh stations before and after packing to ensure that loads meet state safety regulations, making alterations to loads when required by law.
- Contribute to company data by honestly recording times of delivery and hours worked.
- Assist in unloading cargo when delivery sites are understaffed, maintaining product quality throughout conveyance.
- Adhere to traffic safety regulations at all times, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors and highway authorities.
- Use GPS to stay informed of route information and communicate with supervisors and colleagues using CB radio and cab computer.
Qualifications and Skills
- Class A CDL
- A current DOT Physical
- Can pass a DOT physical if you do not have a current one and a urine and hair drug screen.
- 21 years of age or older
- Minimum 3 months driving experience.
- Ability to travel throughout the U.S.
- Can read and speak fluent English.
- Meet I-9 requirements.
- Can hire drivers with felonies.
- Can hire drivers with SAP.
- Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.
- Proven work experience as a Truck Driver
- Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc.)
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
- Valid truck driving license.
