About the Role
As a US/CAN Claims SIU Investigator, you will investigate, manage, and review claims submitted throughout the US & Canada in connection with the Uber app. You will also collaborate with our third-party insurance carriers and track key SIU metrics across all carriers and collaborate with the carriers to provide supplemental data and insights to assist with claims mitigation and the accurate payment of claims. Duties will also involve identifying potential system enhancements and daily interaction with carrier SIU teams and internal Uber teams.

What You'll Do

• Investigate claims submitted to Uber's insurance carriers by reviewing first notice of loss and supporting materials to accurately identify insurance exposure, determine applicable insurance policy and any potential red flags associated with the claim.
• Direct interaction with carrier SIU teams to investigate questionable claims.
• Innovate and develop new mechanisms toward the investigation of suspect auto and general liability claims.
• Build fraud prevention and detection processes.
• Evaluate potential fraud indicators and the impact of current fraud trends and work with internal teams to develop mitigation strategies.
• Demonstrate critical thinking while adhering to Uber established claims processes.
• Apply existing knowledge to assist with higher complexity claims and insurance inquiries.
• Accurately respond to inquiries received from carriers and other third parties while adhering to Uber's proprietary data guidelines.
• Demonstrate customer obsession and solid understanding of Uber's insurance policies when communicating with all partners.
• Utilize strong oral and written communication skills.

Basic Qualifications

• Knowledge of US & Canada auto claims coverages.
• 4+ years of SIU claims management experience, involving trend analysis and investigating organized activity within property and casualty claims
• HS Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• SQL knowledge
• Claims designation obtained or in progress a plus, (CFE, FCLS)
• Experience working directly with NICB, Department of Insurance and law enforcement entities.
• Demonstrated ability to enhance business processes in the SIU environment with a high degree of complexity.
• Participation in training development, monthly/quarterly business reviews and data analysis.
• Proficiency with various computer operating systems.
• Ability to work cross functionally with internal stakeholders including legal, data science, actuarial, product and engineering.
• Experience with bodily injury claims handling experience with major insurance carriers.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail
Proficient in multitasking through various technology platforms

For Phoenix, AZ-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$75,500 per year - USD$84,250 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
