JOB DESCRIPTION
Your Role

The Blue Shield Promise Claims team processes claims for our Blue Shield of California Medi-Cal members. The Claims Processor will report to the Claims Operation Supervisor. In this role you will be responsible for reviewing and adjudicating claims and/or adjustments in accordance with Medi-Care contracts and organizational policies and procedures to meet operational, financial, and service requirements.

Your Work

In this role, you will:

  • Be experienced in back-end processing; proficient in resolving complex edits using available documents/job aids with minimum direction.
  • Experience front-end processing and complex adjustments.
  • Be given special processing assignments; coordinate with other departments for resolution if needed.
  • Understand fundamentals of end-to-end (life of a clam) claims processing.
  • Perform established performance metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS
Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED
  • Requires at least 3 years of experience
  • Requires 3 years of experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Medi-Cal experience preferred
  • Claims processing experience preferred

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is: $ 18.61 to $ 26.06 for California.

Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.

Physical Requirements:

Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Due to the current public health emergency in California, Blue Shield employees are almost all working remotely. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork - Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
