SalarySummary/Objective:
As a General Liability, Claim Examiner you will process and resolve insurance claims, evaluate coverage, investigate losses, evaluate damages, negotiate, and process payments. This role’s duties included, but are not limited to, communicating with insureds, claimants, attorney’s, brokers, and internal management. The General Liability, Claims Examiner will report directly to a Unit Manager.
Essential Duties & Functions:
General duties will involve handling non-litigated General Liability claims.
Enter incident reports in LIO system upon receipt of claim forms.
Obtain statements from involved parties.
Make timely requests for investigative documentation.
Review policy forms, endorsements, deductibles, and timely enter internal claim note supporting coverage confirmation or supporting coverage declination.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of policy coverage terms including the ability to apply coverage to specific claims.
Professional and timely response to all emails and phone messages, consistently providing exceptional customer service.
Track time frames and set diaries as instructed by statute and regulation and/or as expected by policyholders or LIO’s internal SOPs.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of state and federal laws and regulations affecting insurance practices and claims management, including but not limited to HIPAA and Medicare notification requirements.
Obtain and maintain necessary adjuster’s licenses.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma and relevant work experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree
At least 3 years experience handling General Liability claims
Work Environment:
This job operates in a fast-paced, professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Expected days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position may require long hours and weekend work.
Travel:
Occasional travel may be necessary for this position – to attend mediations, trials, or large property loss exposures.
