Job description

RSUI is searching for a Claims Assistant to join the Professional Liability unit of our Claims department in Atlanta, Georgia! The Claims Assistant collaborates with other assistants and claims handlers to meet the daily needs of the team, focusing on data entry and administrative tasks in the claim workload.
Our ideal candidate will have previous business administrative support experience, with a background in claims or legal administrative work as a plus. They will be skilled multitaskers with an eye for detail, and possess stellar communication skills. Bringing a team-player approach to their work is essential, plus a positive attitude and "entrepreneurial spirit", where no daily task is too big or too small. Ideal candidates will embrace our "speed of response" mentality and place high priority on top-notch internal customer service.
RSUI and the Claims department are highly collaborative, so in-person interaction, team meetings, and other activities will require an in-person presence. Building relationships is a key component of RSUI's culture, and doing so is accomplished, in part, through engaging in meaningful in-person dialogue. This position will work RSUI's hybrid work schedule, which requires three days weekly in the office.

Below are additional details about this role including essential responsibilities and ideal candidate qualifications.
Responsibilities:

  • Assists claims handler staff by obtaining information necessary to properly handle claims
  • Complete data entry transactions for claims processing
  • Maintenance and organization of claims handler imaged files
  • Process Letters
  • Telephone and mail duties
  • Photocopying, faxing, e-mailing, etc.
  • Send appropriate notification and documentation to our reinsurers
  • Send acknowledgement to our agents, brokers and insureds, as required
  • Complete outside assignments to Independent Adjusters and Attorneys, as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • 4-year degree strongly preferred or equivalent business experience
  • Previous business administrative support experience strongly preferred; claims or legal administrative support experience is a plus
  • Good oral and written communication skills required (telephone, e-mail and interpersonal)
  • Decision making, prioritizing, and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Superior customer service skills
