Job description

Summary/Objective
The Claims Administrator is responsible for the intake and administration of claims throughout the claims lifecycle. The Claims Administrator will be the lead owner in ensuring claims are established and reported on a timely basis, are adequately documented to provide sufficient adequate decision making and resolution, that all needed parties inclusive of Bob’s associates, Bob’s Managers, and third party Claims Adjusters and Brokers are informed throughout the claim lifecycle, and that appropriate real-time decisions are made to take appropriate action to mitigate risk to the associate and the Company.
Job Responsibilities
  • Performs quality assurance review of all incoming Worker’s Compensation, Auto, or General Liability claim reports. Ensures all claims are established in a timely basis with all needed data points documented.
  • Provides direction for appropriate next steps where needed as claims are set up (treat/not treat, where to treat, etc.)
  • Ensures all claims are set up in a timely and complete manner in Bob’s, Third Party Administrator, and Federal and State OSHA systems.
  • Ensures documentation (medical, accident reporting, statement, pictures, etc.) are appropriately maintained.
  • Everyday contact with claims adjusters in providing information and answering questions.
  • Performs compliance reporting (state and Federal OSHA, etc.)
  • Ensures compliance with posting and notice obligations.
  • Ensures proper and timely execution of claims payments and internal light duty payments.
  • Participates in claims reviews.
Competencies
  • Strong technical knowledge in one or more areas of Worker’s Compensation, Motor Vehicle Liability, General Liability and claims processing systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through in demonstrating accountability to the interest of both the claimant and for the Company
  • Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions where clarification is needed.
    • Bi –lingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage data across multiple systems and reporting mechanisms.
  • Ability to understand and interpret federal and state regulations and compliance obligations.
Supervisory Responsibility
The Claims Administrator is an individual contributor and does not have supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
  • Position resides at Bobs’ Headquarters in Manchester, CT. Note: This position is expected to work a mix of office and remote work.
  • High level of collaboration with various business partners within and outside of the Bobs’ Loss Prevention Department.
  • Ongoing phone, email and report monitoring communication with business partners.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and operate a computer and telephone
Expected Hours of Work and Travel
The Claims Administrator is expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Overtime work may be required in certain situations but should not be expected as the norm. Regular, predictable attendance is required.
Required Education and Experience
Two to four years of insurance industry experience preferably claims management relative to one or more of the following categories (workers' compensation, no-fault, liability, and/or Auto)
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Direct experience as a user and/or admin of the Workday system
Americans Disability Act (ADA)
  • Able to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, push and handle and move items weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance
  • Ability to move throughout all areas of stores
  • Move objects up to 100 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Stand or sit continuously to perform job functions
Expected Base Pay Not Including Potential Commissions, Incentive, Bonus, etc. Opportunities:
Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $25.00
