Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Claim Analyst who will be responsible for assisting clients from the first report of claim until conclusion. The Claim Analyst should be able to work independently and resolve customer issues with minimal assistance from the Department Manager.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and analyze insurance claims to determine coverage eligibility and accuracy.
  • Review insurance policies and documentation to assess the validity of claims.
  • Communicate with policyholders, claimants, and third-party providers to gather necessary information.
  • Investigate and verify the circumstances of claims, including interviews, inspections, and research.
  • Collaborate with underwriters, legal teams, and adjusters to make claim decisions.
  • Calculate claim settlements and negotiate settlements when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and organized claim records and documentation.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, policy changes, and best practices.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing claimant inquiries and concerns.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance claim processing efficiency.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid CA Fire & Casualty License.
  • Minimum of 5 (five) years recent experience in the property & casualty department of a brokerage firm.
  • Background in Property/Casualty excluding workers compensation is required.
  • Excellent and clear verbal and written communications with all customers and company personnel.
  • Above average computer skills including Microsoft Office Products: Outlook, Word, Excel and Internet research.
  • Able to use all resources available to make decisions and come to conclusions necessary to meet a clients' needs and/or as support to Producer.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be cognizant of and able to meet deadlines.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products - Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Comfortable navigating insurance company software.
  • Responsible for calls from clients, producers, third parties and carriers on potential claims.
  • Responsible for reviewing the client's policies and then reporting new claims to the appropriate carrier.
  • Responsible for updating TAM with new claims, current status, current reserves/payments and final closure, no more than every 90 days.
  • Responsible for discussions with the client and/or producer and account manager on potential coverage issues and ensuring that the coverage position taken by the carrier is appropriate.
  • Ordering police reports on behalf of the clients.
  • Reviewing contracts for risk management and potential issues/claims.
  • Reporting claims to adverse carriers and assisting the client in gaining reimbursement.
  • Responsibility to ensure supervisor/manager is aware and current on large catastrophe claims, coverage issues and difficult issues.

 

Compensation

  • $80k - $120k, DOE

 

 

Schedule:

  • Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
  • Monday - Friday
  • Hybrid; Remote
