The opportunity:
We are excited to launch the search for our new Civil/Structural Designer. Your primary role will be to take direction from your manager, the Civil/Structural Engineer and then prepare CADD drawings yourself from design sketches. Working on multiple projects at a time, your work will range from green field installations to modifications/repair installations.
Some of your principal duties:
· Prepare CADD drawings from design sketches and verbal instructions provided by the Engineer
· Prepare legible sketches and field notes that include all pertinent dimensions, notes, and job number
· Able to support on singular Civil/Structural Projects.
· Run a model review.
· Open and transparent communication with your supervisor with regards to progress
· Demonstrate a continuing awareness and implementation of safety practices in the workplace and in the production of their CADD drawings (“Safety in Design”)
· Perform related support tasks such as updating computer lists, filing print and distributing drawings
· Participate in company mandated safety and quality training
· Being able to pass a federal background check and obtain a TWIC card if necessary
You’ll come to us with:
· High School education (or equivalent), with additional basic drafting courses training from a vocational-technical school or other applicable program. We would also welcome a minimum of two years of education in an associate or bachelor’s degree program at a university or community college in the Civil/Structural discipline.
· A few years of technical work experience in the Civil/Structural field in the industrial industry
· The knowledge of common industry applicable deliverables
· High attention to detail
· Ability to use your technical expertise to analyse issues and look for continuous improvement
· Proficiency in AutoCad, Microsoft Office suite, Autodesk Recap, Navisworks, CadWorx Structural
