Job Title: Cisco Voice Engineer
Location: Atlanta, Georgia (Local Candidates Only)
Pay Rate: $77/hr
Duration: 12-Week Engagement, Starting March 25, 2024
Schedule: Hybrid schedule, five days a week, with the number of onsite days to be determined based on project needs. Occasional nights and weekends work required.
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Cisco Voice Engineer to lead the migration of the existing Cisco Unified Communication R11.5 Platform IP telephony system to R14.5 on new M6 BCS servers. This individual will collaborate closely with various departments and Cisco to ensure the successful completion of the project within the specified timeframe.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the deployment of VOIP system upgrades across the system, including installing the ISO, migrating servers from M4 to M6 servers via PCD, running cluster-wide Readiness Upgrade task flow, and running Precheck COP files.
- Upgrade Publisher and (3) Subscriber nodes, as well as Unity and other associated Cisco servers.
- Collect relevant data from all pertinent systems to be used during implementation.
- Test and validate the system, identifying and implementing enhanced security functionality.
- Provide operational support post-deployment and participate in project meetings.
- Conduct system documentation training and handoff post-completion.
- Tune the environment to ensure continued high performance, including some after-hours and weekend work as necessary.
- Perform occasional on-site visits to provide operational support and ensure system compliance with industry standards.
Skills Required:
- Experience in designing, installing, and configuring large-scale voice communications hardware and software.
- Understanding of firewall policies and stateful connections, along with deep knowledge of network security best practices and protocols.
- Proficiency in networking protocols, including TCP/IP, QSIG, SIP, H323, MGCP, and SCCP voice networking topologies.
- Familiarity with VMware virtual environments and configuring voice gateways with various protocols.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to troubleshoot complex telephony environments.
- Knowledge of VOIP encryption using SIP over TSL and SRTP.
- Familiarity with compliance guidelines such as HIPPA, SOX, GLBA, and PCI preferred.
- CCNA certification required, CCNP preferred.
