- Design, build, implement, and maintain ITOPS IO’s network infrastructure as well as connectivity among data centers
- Install, configure, and support network equipment including CISCO ONS, routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, Wireless Controllers
- Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
- Configure firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
- Perform Network Operating System upgrades on all network devices
- Design, deploy, configure, administer and maintain network High Availability (HA) designs
- First Hop Redundancy Protocols (FHRP), Virtual Port Channels (VPCs), Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP), Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation, Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP) routing protocols, and Overlay Transport Virtualization (OTV)
- Recommend strategic direction and execution path for our networks and tools
- Any recommendations shall be provided to the COR/VA PM(s) for approval prior to any implementation or changes
- Identify and document design/architecture best practices for ITOPS IO adoption
- Lead technical design/architecture reviews of applicable ITOPS IO projects. Any recommendations shall be provided to the COR/VA PM(s) for approval prior to any implementation or changes
- Design Network Implementation Plans for Layer 2/3 that include Spanning Tree, virtual local area networks (VLANs), Virtual Port Channels (VPCs), Port Channels, Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation, redundant connectivity to ISPs, complex routing/switching infrastructure, extranet connectivity, data center design, and Wide Area Network (WAN) integration.
- Implement networks per the Network Implementation Plans
- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain multicast networks. Multicast protocols used in ITOPS IO include Protocol-Independent Multicast (PIM) dense and sparse mode, Cisco Group Management Protocol (CGMP), Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP), Multicast Listener Discovery (MLD), Bootstrap Router (BSR) protocol
- Must have experience designing, building, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure
- Must have experience with Cisco enterprise class switches and routers including Cisco 4500, 3900, Cisco
- Must have experience with Aggregation Services Router (ASR), and Cisco Nexus series equipment
- Experience with switching and routing technologies (Routing and Switching, CCNA or CCNP certifications preferred)
- Experience with firewall technologies (Cisco IOS, FortiOS) or similar
- Experience with troubleshooting and repair of networking equipment Router/Firewall/Switching/Routing/IOS knowledge preferred)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks independently and as part of a team
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is and 5+ years’ work experience
- Eight (8) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education (13 years total)
Clearance:
- The ability to pass a Tier 2/Modest Background Investigation
