PRIMARY DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:
SRC is searching for a well-rounded Cisco Network Engineer with experience configuring, maintaining, and implementing technologies on the Cisco suite of Networking devices to support sustainment and modernization North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) systems. These systems consist of an on-premises Nutanix Hyper-Converged Private Cloud utilizing VMware ESXi Hypervisor and associated products, with future migration to Nutanix's native Hypervisor. The Private Cloud hosts NORAD and USNORTHCOM Mission Applications and Web Services including the Situational Awareness Geospatial Enterprise (SAGE) and Air Event Information Sharing Service (A/EISS) applications, as well as the Global Command and Control System-Joint (GCCS-J) Program of Record (PoR) Systems and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers. Sustainment of NORAD and USNORTHCOM (N-NC) systems will be conducted at the government's facilities in Colorado Springs, CO.
  • Maintains and modernizes Cisco Networking Devices and associated networks
  • Engineers and Integrates emerging technologies with legacy systems to deliver enhanced capabilities to the customer, and assist in Testing those capabilities within VLAN separated environments
  • Delivers integrated technology solutions to O M Contractor team for full lifecycle management to meet N-NC requirements
  • Engages individually and as part of the NetOps Team with planning, configuration, and implementation of technical requirements on the latest Cisco devices
  • Understands Routing Protocols e.g. BGP and OSPF, and Switching protocols e.g. LACP, Spanning Tree, VLAN and included technologies e.g. VXLAN, Multicast and EVPN
  • Originates, updates, and deploys documentation for procedures and equipment as needed for the mission area
  • Translates USNORTHCOM/J3 J6 user capability requests into requirements and obtain Government approval for change management through Configuration Control Board (CCB).
  • Provides technical leadership to project activities to ensure solutions are being implemented per approved design
  • Establishes strong relationships with key leaders from other teams and demonstrate credibility, empathy and expertise on business and technical issues
  • Translates business goals into appropriate strategies and technical requirements
  • Develops Network solutions that can be easily tailored to COTS and GOTS systems.
  • Creates and modifies Network Configurations and technical documentation
  • Travels to N-NC Regions and Sectors up to 25% of the time

Requirements
MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3 years of Network Engineering experience
  • 3 years of experience configuring and administering Cisco network devices (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls); CCNA/Cisco and similar Cisco device administrator experience.
  • Active DoD 8570 Level II Certification (e.g. Security+, CySA+, GICSP, CISSP, CCNP Security)

DESIRED SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3 Years DoD Network Administration Experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 3+ years of network design experience with load balancing and high availability systems
  • Experience with web application architectures and their required ports and protocols
  • Ability to track, recommend, and implement resolutions to issues.
  • Ability to build good relationships with peers, business partners, and clients
  • Experience required with planning, design and implementation of networked systems, to include configuration management, upgrades and troubleshooting of network issues.
  • Experience with Network Analysis applications such as Sniffer, Wireshark, or Microsoft Network Monitor
  • Experience with network security hardware such as Cisco ASA, Barracuda NextGen Firewall, SonicWall TZ, Splunk, SolarWinds Log Event Manager, Bro Network Security Monitor
  • Must be able to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team. Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a diverse, fast-paced environment
  • Experience installing, configuring and testing various network devices

Additional Pay Information (If Applicable)
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $84,450.00 - $140,700.00. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. SRC offers a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with a company match, life insurance, vacation and sick paid time off accruals starting at 10 days of vacation and 5 days of sick leave annually, 11 paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, and more.
