About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a CIB Control Client Support & Transformation Senior Control within the CIB Control organization. This position will be responsible for Front-line Control coverage activities for CIB's Client Support and Transformation (CST) division and will support risk identification, risk assessments, and ongoing examination of controls associated with Credit Execution and Administration (CEA) and Client Service support functions servicing CIB Banking and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) clients. The CEA Team is responsible for executing the booking process, post-booking and ongoing administration for the deal team acting as the key liaison between the deal team and operations.

The Client Service Team provides day to day support for Account Origination, Onboarding, Account Maintenance, and Move Money activities such as, providing individual risk management consultation and expertise on applicable bank policies and related risk and control process requirements. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

In this role, you will:
  • Function as the key point of contact for Credit Execution and Administration and Client Service oriented processes, risks, and internal control program development related to lending and client service activities to service corporate clients. Liaise with Control team partners aligned to serve CIB Banking and CRE segments to foster standardized, timely, and best practices related to risk and control pursuits.
  • Issue / Incident Management and Loss Capture: Serve as a point of contact for Credit Execution and Administration Team to document and assess control weaknesses and operational risk incidents using methods such as root cause analysis and follow escalation protocols. Consult with business process owners to develop corrective action plans and control redesign. Oversee implementation progress of issues and corrective actions and collection of applicable artifacts. Coordinate with business and support partners for creation of Self-Disclosed issues in Issues Management system of record. Record losses in the system of record, as applicable.
  • Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA): Contribute to RCSA assessments through detailed risk and control evaluations, and collection of metrics and supporting observations. Partner with Compliance, ORBO, Regional Control teams to ensure major compliance requirements and controls are aligned and developed to mitigate risks. Liaise with Control owners to recommend and update existing controls to improve the overall effectiveness and record in the system of record, as applicable.
  • Control development, projects & platform initiatives: Develop strategies to influence process owners, control owners, business sponsors, and key risk partners on the need for additional or improved controls to mitigate risk; Work with the business and support teams to provide operational risk expertise and consulting for projects and platform initiatives, considering impacts to risk & control framework.
  • As an independent contributor, the candidate will escalate and present risk initiatives to CIB Banking Risk Committees and forums.
  • Consult with Control team partners across Wholesale Lending Operations, Global Treasury Management, and Global Trade Operations on cross line of business process flows to ensure CIB processes and controls are well defined, effective and sustainable.
  • Continuously engage in discussions with LOB partners on strategy, process and technology change management initiatives, organizational changes, and harmonization of controls.
  • This position directly supports our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. Teams are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following, and adhering to and if applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions.


Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of Risk Management or Financial Services Industry experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:
  • Proven experience with corporate lending processes and technologies, loan closing and documentation maintenance, post booking certification, & letter of credit administrative support
  • Knowledge of Corporate/Commercial lending regulations and aligned controls
  • Working knowledge of Corporate & Investment Banking businesses, its products and services, and relevant risks and controls of the business
  • Analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy used to identify, assess and confidently raise risks and issues, escalate early, and independently engage in constructive credible challenge
  • Highly professional, adaptable and proactive mindset with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a fast paced and complex environment
  • Knowledge of Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
  • Experience with Issue Management, root cause analysis, and corrective action development
