Chr Boilermaker

Overview:
The Boilermaker-Lead role is pivotal in managing the mechanical tasks at client sites daily. This position focuses on ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and service in all mechanical operations. The Boilermaker-Lead undertakes mechanical work essential to the project's objectives and adheres to client expectations, while ensuring a safe working atmosphere. This role involves adhering to company policies, maintaining professionalism in all interactions, and upholding company standards in both internal and external dealings.

Responsibilities:
Modifications may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform crucial duties.

• Assemble, install, diagnose, and repair boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, vats, and ductwork onsite.
• Utilize hand and power tools, gas torches, and welding equipment for repair or replacement of parts, including operation of metalworking machinery.
• Dismantle damaged boilers, repair weak areas with metal stock, replace faulty sections, and reinforce joints.
• Skilled in using rigging equipment like chain falls and come along.
• Interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Assist in equipment and trailer cleaning and proper loading.
• Maintain a safe work environment at client facilities.
• Operate and care for company-owned and rented equipment.
• Communicate job scope changes to Supervisors or Superintendents.
• Keep in constant communication with Supervisors during task execution.
• Support Supervisors and Superintendents in meeting customer expectations and deadlines.
• Guarantee the safety of team members and create a safe work environment.
• Aid in selecting and training field personnel as needed.
• Follow all Company Safety, Quality Control/Quality Assurance procedures, and OSHA guidelines.
• Maintain composure and efficiency under pressure and challenging conditions.
• Participate in required training by the Company and clients.
• Pass all drug/alcohol tests and background checks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
This job is primarily in a petrochemical/refinery setting. It involves exposure to varying weather conditions and noise, requiring hearing protection. Emergency situations may involve exposure to hazardous chemicals, necessitating respirator use. Employees must be fit for various respirators and pass a pulmonary function test (PFT).

Physical Demands:
This role demands significant physical exertion. Tasks include bending, stooping, walking, climbing, squatting, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, and maintaining balance in various positions. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally more. Work in confined spaces, at heights, and on uneven surfaces is expected. The role demands clear verbal communication, acute hearing, and the ability to react quickly to alarms or warnings. Manual dexterity and physical coordination are essential.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a project-based position with variable work days and hours, often requiring overtime.

Travel:
The role involves extensive travel across the U.S., often including overnight stays.

Qualifications:
Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent, with 4-5 years’ experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of rigging equipment and crane signals.
• Proficiency in retrieval devices, fall protection, hand tools, power tools, hydraulic torque tools, including maintenance and inspection.
• Strong mathematical and scientific abilities.

Preferred:

• Over 5 years’ experience in a similar field.
• TWIC, NCCER certification, Basic Plus, Confined Space, OSHA 10/30 training.
• First Aid, CPR training, Class “A” driver’s license with a clean MVR.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Expected hours: No more than 84 per week
